Xanthan Gum

What is Xanthan Gum?

Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide with many uses.

Usage:

1) Thickener Xanthan Gum is normally used as a thickener. (In particular, thickening of liquids such as sauces etc) In a few articles, it is noted that 1% of Xanthan Gum in the overall formulation is able to thicken the viscosity of the liquid.

2) Formulation Stabiliser Xanthan gum is also normally used as a stabiliser. As it is able to bind ingredients together. However, do note that it is not an emulsifier.

Thickener and emulsion stabilizer for cosmetics products.

Food additive used as a texturant. Use level 0.1% to 1.5%
